Reverse geocoding from your own code
curl 'https://api.pinsharing.com/v1/reverse?lat=41.87886&lon=-87.63592&key=YOUR_KEY'
It returns the nearest address or place as GeoJSON, with the parts in properties. One call counts as one address lookup. Read more in what reverse geocoding is.
Questions
Do you keep my location?
We use the point only to answer the lookup and don't build profiles from it. Like any request, it can appear in our server logs for up to 14 days for security and troubleshooting. The free tools keep visitor IP addresses in memory for up to an hour to limit use.
Why did I get a street instead of a house number?
The nearest house number may not be in OpenStreetMap yet, so the closest street or place is returned instead.
