Use PinSharing map tiles in WP Go Maps, the WordPress map plugin, without writing code. It takes about three minutes.

  1. Get a free key. Keys in web pages are visible to visitors, so in the dashboard limit this key to your website's domain.

  2. In WordPress, open Maps → Settings → General. Under Maps Engine, choose OpenLayers (Version 10) and press Save Settings. OpenLayers shows the OpenStreetMap credit on the map for you.

  3. Open the Advanced tab. Under Map Engine, set:

    SettingValue
    OpenLayers Tileserver Keyyour PinSharing key
Tile Server URLCustom (Enter URL) (XYZ)
    Custom Tile Server URLhttps://api.pinsharing.com/v1/tiles/light/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
    Custom Tile API Field Namekey
    Custom Tile TypeRaster (XYZ)

Press Save Settings. Every map on your site now uses PinSharing tiles. The plugin's settings preview may say "Could not fetch preview"; your maps still load.

  4. To change the look, replace light in the URL with dark, white or grayscale.

What it uses

Each tile counts as 1 tile from your plan, and a typical map view loads about 16 tiles. See pricing for each plan's monthly tiles. When a plan's cap is reached, tiles pause until the next month; there is never an overage bill.

Leaflet engine

The same settings work with the Leaflet engine: put your key in Leaflet Tileserver Key instead. Leaflet in WP Go Maps doesn't show the OpenStreetMap credit for custom tiles, and the credit is required, so add "© OpenStreetMap contributors" near the map yourself, or use OpenLayers.

Address search

WP Go Maps looks up marker addresses with its own address providers, and PinSharing isn't one of them yet. Placing markers by clicking the map or by coordinates needs no lookup.

Checked with WP Go Maps 10.1.10 on WordPress 7.1, November 2026.
